We want dogs to bark, because thats what they do! We want them to notify us of any visitors, welcome or otherwise, to the house, or when they want to go outside to the toilet or if something else is wrong. However, when your dog barks and doesn’t stop when YOU want them to, it then becomes an issue. Many owners can get very frustrated and angry when their dog continues to bark and they feel that there is nothing they can do or say to make them stop!
Excessive barking is NOT natural for a dog, so you need to take into consideration that your dog is either frustrated, bored, believe it is their job or maybe for some other reason. The most common reason is through frustration, particularly when outside, and this frustration has to go somewhere, so normally it’s through barking. If this excessive barking is not addressed, then it can also turn into other more annoying habits such as destruction or even worse…aggression!
So I will show you how to effectively teach your dog to teach themselves to stop barking, when you want them to, so that you have a calm and relaxed dog on your command.
